Google Classroom is a free online service that helps you engage students and track their progress. It’s available on the web, Android phones and tablets, Chromebooks, and iPhones and iPads. It’s easy to use with other Google services like Gmail, Calendar, Drive and Docs. It’s also integrated with Google Classroom for Education so that you can manage your class roster alongside your school account.
Google Classroom is an app that helps teachers organize their classes, distribute content and communicate with students. It’s a free tool that allows teachers to create classes, share documents and assignments, and communicate with students.
Google Classroom can be used for prescheduled courses or self-paced courses (such as independent study). Teachers can also use it for individualized instruction within a larger class setting by creating separate groups of students according to their needs or skill levels.
How to use it?
- Sign in to Classroom.
- In the left sidebar, click “Classes” to view your classes.
- Click “Create New Class.” Please enter a name for your class and select whether it’s private or public. Private classes can only be accessed by invited students; public classes are visible to anyone on Google Plus who can access them (you’ll need a Google+ account).
- Click “Invite Students” at the bottom of your screen, then enter their email addresses one at a time–or import them from Gmail by clicking “Import contacts from Gmail” below where you type in their emails–and click “Send Invites.”
For Students
You can do the following things in Google Classroom:
- Create a class and join it.
- View your schedule, assignments and grades for each class you take.
- View quizzes assigned to you by teachers who use Google Apps for Education (GAFE), including their results if they’ve been graded yet by other students’ participation or through automatic grading features like machine learning or auto-grade rules.
For Teachers
- Create a class: You can create a new class from the “Classes” tab or by clicking the “Create Class” button on any assignment.
- Join a class: If you are invited to join a class, click on the link in your invitation email or navigate to that assignment’s page and click “Join this Class.”
- Add students: Click on the student icon in your toolbar at the top of any assignment page. This will open up an interface where you can add students by entering their names into text fields or using a CSV file uploader (Note: You must have permission from them before adding them). Once they’re added, they’ll receive an email notification letting them know they’ve been added; if multiple sections are being offered, then only those selected as part of that section will receive notifications about upcoming deadlines, etcetera.”
Getting Started with Google Classroom
Google Classroom is a free app available on Android and iOS. It’s also available in English, Spanish, French, German, Chinese and Japanese. Google Classroom makes it easy for you to create assignments for your students and send them out via email or SMS. Students receive notifications when new assignments are posted so they can get right to work!
Using the Classroom App
To get started, you’ll need to log in to Google Classroom. Once you have logged in, you will see a list of all your classes and due assignments. You can also click on “Class Discussions” to open up a window where students can discuss their work with each other or with the teacher.
Uploading and Sharing Documents, Presentations, and Slides
Google Classroom is a great tool for teachers to use when teaching and managing classes. It allows you to upload and share documents, presentations, or slides with students while they work on them in Google Drive. You can also import files from your computer into Google Drive, so they’re ready to be shared with students.
Collaborating with Students
- Share a document with students and send them a link
- Share a document with students and allow them to edit the document (the teacher will be able to see who made which changes)
Assigning Assignments and Grading Work
Assignments can be given a deadline, and you can assign different types of work to students. For example, if you want one student to create a Google Doc and another student to submit an article online, you can do that! You’ll also be able to see how your students are doing on assignments in real time–no more waiting until the end of the class period before finding out who still needs to finish their work or turn it in!
Exam Responses in Google Classroom
Google Classroom is a great place for students to respond to questions and upload their work. Students can also see their grades in Google Classroom so that teachers can see all responses in one place.
